Temple Avery has a storied history within the Richmond art community. From an early age, Avery was involved with music and dance as a way of expressing herself, and for the past several years she has discovered the joy of painting. She is a believer that art, in just about any form, stimulates the mind and enriches the soul…and her work does that through mostly representational subject matter.
Avery works mostly in oils that offer flexibility and what she calls a “buttery consistency” to meld colors with her soft, natural style.
“As an author endeavors to tell a story in the most meaningful way, I want my painting to full express my feeling for the subject matter.”
